I agree with the break in time. At least 100 hours or more. The amp can also be part of the problem along with your cabling. If after 100 hrs or so it doesn't sound any better, buy decent speaker cable and interconnects as a system is only as strong as it's weakest link. Room acoustics and speaker placement also affect overall sound quality.
