Braun LV-1020 tri-amps
Outstanding floor-standers, great dynamics, excellent extension top and bottom, very good low-level detail. No wonder Sterling Sound kept a pair for mastering until just a few years ago.
Quad ESL
No bottom, no top, no dynamics, but what they do do is so good it doesn't matter.
Genelec S-30
Internally tri-amped near-field monitors. Think of them as great big headphones. They work when about three to four feet away, pointed at your ears. Terrific balance and extension, great low-level detail, always musical, and detailed enough to be great monitors for mixing or mastering. Dynamics very limited however, so they will not fill a room with sound. These speakers bear NO resemblance to the awful drek Genelec currently markets to the semi-pro/home studio market.
KLH Model nine
With all the great 'stats that have come and gone, I still miss these, even as single pairs. They were not neutral, but had a pretty strong character that could seduce almost anyone.
