Not likely that there are diodes in your crossover but RadioShack did use bulbs as protection for mids & tweeters in the Mach series speakers. Can you post a pic of the crossover?
Here is a stock crossover from a Realistic Mach Two speaker. The components at 3-o'clock and 1 o'clock are the protection bulbs for the mid & tweeter. Do they look like anything on your crossovers?
