Based on a thread of a few weeks ago I decided to toe-in my ProAc D15's so they crossed in front of my listening position vs. the more traditional "at or behind the head" angle. After a few weeks of listening, and a remarkable listening session with the O'Brother SACD, I am going to stay with the extreme for now. On the positive side I liked the way the speakers improved vocal harmonies, there seemed to be better defined detail in the instruments, and most obviously the band was playing between the speakers now - quite focused and sounding more like a live presentation. On the downside, I now have almost no defined soundstage outside the speakers - this will be a big issue for some but my set-up has never provided much of a soundstage anyway due to positioning limitations, armoire/TV placement, etc.
Interestingly, when I purchased the ProAc's a few years ago the dealer suggested a crossing toe-in, but I set them up per the manufacturer recommendations of a minimal angle. Oh well.
