Harbeth 30.1 speaker pricing in US...bizarre and inconsistent?

Greetings, inmates!
Jeez, I used to loiter and linger here for hours, but after finally getting a system that got me off the upgrade train, I took a "leave of absence".

So, here's my issue:

I have a pair of Harbeth Compact 7 ES-3s driven by LFD Zero mk III int amp and Bel Canto DAC 3 (Oppo transport and Wadia 170i.) in my basement system. Oh, and a REL Strata III sub.

I want to upgrade to new Harbeth 30.1s but am totally puzzled by the US pricing model and seek input from you guys. The US MSRP of cherry finish Harbeth 30.1s is apparently $5,995.00 - ouch, a decent size number for a stand-mount 2-way speaker.

Here's where it gets weird. In Canada, the same speakers are $4,295.00. US and CA currencies are both equal right now.
Ok, you may be asking, then what about the other models:

North of the border, ALL OTHER Harbeth models are basically the exact same price as the US.

Compact 7s in US are $3,650.00
Compact 7s in CA are $3,600.00

P3ESRs in US are $2,195.00
P3ESRs in CA are $2,199.00

SHL5s in US are $5,590.00
SHL5s in CA are $5,299.00

The bizarre:

30.1s in US are $5,990.00
30.1s in CA are $4,299.00

Why are the new 30.1s so much more expensive in the US compared to ALL other Harbeth models?
