Surely the owner can send some pics, especially of the drivers and the backplates.Disparate models from the same manufacturers sound like they might be easy to compensate for differences, but I've not always found that to the case.
A difference in dynamics or crossover/slopes or sensitivty will always be a problem because when you get them balanced on one kind if music, they won't be on another.
The main key to knowing when you have the subs dialed in is when you never feel the need to go over and re-adjust them for a different recording. With mismatched subs, no matter how cleverly you've placed them, the urge to make tweaks in often more prevalent.
I'd hold out and make sure you had a matching pair.
