The idea is based on a hopefully better outcome, so in that area, it's valid.
But when you use different toe-in, you mess with timbre and time arrival.
I prefer to find a compromise set-up where I can preserve these basic values to enhance the musical experience.
If you adjust the toe-in differently on one speaker for a technical reason, usually (maybe not always) you get a new sound that is not as involving as you could have had.
IMO, of course.
