I don't need a lesson on how solid-state amplifiers work. I've built them. Thanks just the same.
Secondly, no power supply I have ever come across filters the AC it receives from the wall outlet. At least not by design or very effectively.
" the power cord is simply a conductor whose electrical properties are negligible"
This is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever encountered at this forum and it is this type of nonsense that keeps me away from the forum for long spells at a time.
If you believe that the AC supplied to your home is pure 60 cycle, sine wave, 120 volts RMS, then you have never used an oscilloscope nor heard the difference a high quality well-designed power cord can make in reducing all the artifact accompanying the AC supply.
Have you ever heard of super conductors? Do you think electrons travel at the same speed through these as well?
Do you think before you postulate these absurd comments. Have you met Richard'Bass Nut' Greene?
Wake up! Audio has come a long way since you fell asleep.
