While I can sense (all-be-it) slightly, that 32Hz tone is being reproduced, it is not pronounced and gut-felt at all.
It's great to know my MG-2's just might have the capability to probe these low bass areas with some modifications.
Sorry, no modifications of the MG-2, while remaining with its stock dimensions, will get you linear response to 32 Hz.
That's not to say the MG-2s can't be enjoyable. They can. But the original design and layout was to meet a price/performance point.
The Magnepan speakers of that era that could approach 32 Hz were huge, 6' tall and 4' wide. Reaching the low bass at the MG-IIs price point ($625/pr in 1974) wasn't on the designer's radar. Mods can improve the the bass, but it's more a matter of quality rather than significant frequency response extension.
