You're right - they weren't everyone's cup of tea. I think I gave the wrong impression.
But a lot of what I would have called music lovers as opposed to those more interested in the sound really loved those speakers.
The dynamics played a big part I think, because often the dynamics make the difference in whether the musical reproduction is compelling or not.
FWIW - We were a very successful Linn dealer. I was invited to go on the first ever Linn tour of Scotland, paid for by Linn. It was a wonderful experience.
And I had Quad 57s at home. :)
