...and why not? They're quite sensitive, and besides... MOST speakers sound better with glass :*)
I was using a 200 watt Rotel amp for most of my time with them. The PrimaLuna definitely warmed things up a bit, not as dry. Resolution was also better.
The Studios c.n image very well, but maybe a bit too pin-pointed.
Easy to drive.
Fairly well-balanc.d at lower levels.
And that's the thing - they tend to get c.ngested at higher SPLs. Staying at low-medium levels, you should be OK.
Despite being a very solid, well-built speaker, I've always felt there is a "tubby" or unnatural quality to the sound.
I never felt the tweeter was too bright (although c.rtainly not the most refined), but possibly "upper mids harsh", again, at higher volumes.
All of this must sound like I really didn't enjoy my time with them, but that's not the c.se. I do, however, feel better speakers c.n be had for less.
