How about some used Living Voice? Might get the entry model (Avditorium) new for that amount (but I'm not sure). Anyhow, they are rated 94dB and are designed to run with low power tubes...I heared Avditorium Avatar being driven with 30Wpc and I like them very much (Im gathering $$$ for IBX2 version). They have punch and go loud more than I need them to go.
