I just picked up a pair of these vintage Infinity speakers at the local thrift shop for $10. The woofers newed to be re-foamed but otherwise they are mint, the cabinets look realy nice. They are the rs4000 model and I believe they are from the late 80's maybe? It is a three-way bookshelf type with what looks to be about an 8in woofer 3in midrange and the Emit tweeter. Any opinions on these older Infinity speakers?? I owned a pair of Kappa 6 years ago and I have fond memories of them they were my first "real" speaker. Is it worth getting these RS4000's refoamed?? How do they compare with modern speakers?? I remeber the Kappa6 had a very airy top and a warmish bass. ANy info or opinions on these RS4000's?? I just couldnt resist for $10 probably would cost around $100 to get the professionally refoamed or 5 to do it myself is it worth it?
thanks
