I use this combo (VSM-MX and REL Storm), and you are absolutley correct. The sub must be out of the BAM's single path...pre out to sub with the BAM AFTER the pre. The REL's performance is far worse compared to when it runs off the amp's speaker terminals, but it's better than no sub. I like you need things to go down to at least 20hz.
