Revel Performa F 30

10" woofer, 5.5" mid, 1" tweeter, I think it's a titanium dome tweeter.

91 lbs. at 45" tall 12" wide and about 14" deep

I have owned Meadowlark Osprey's , Vandersteen 2ce sigs. 3A's and PSB Stratus Gold I's. I sold the Stratus Gold I's ( which is a fantastic speaker) and was looking for something to replace them. I knew I'd have a tough time without breaking the bank.

I auditioned the F 30's in the home of the original owner and knew within six minutes that this was the sound I was looking for. I've had them here for two weeks.

Sound:

Huge wide soundstage that fills the room, between and above the speakers. There is a wonderful sense of space and depth to the music. Not harsh or bright but somehow able to convey more detail than I have ever heard in recordings I know by heart.

Bass performance is outstanding, a kick drum doesn't just " thud " it has force and depth and resonance. The F 30's extend quite low ( rated at 31 hz ) with better than expected speed and pitch definition.

Voices, rather male or female, seem to be natural sounding. I also would like to say I have never heard a saxaphone sound better on any other speaker, and I'm not a big saxaphone fan.

They are neither foward or laid back but can be highly dynamic and downright explosive when the recording warrants.

Compared to the other speakers mentioned above the Revels outdo them in every area. More detail, faster attack, longer decay, more coherant.

One more note, I didn't know my system could sound this good until I plugged them into it, I thought my CD player or the amp may be lacking.. Well perhaps I could do better but the revels seem to mesh well with what I have. I wonder how much better they would sound with even better equipment? Of course we always wonder..

Product Weakness: Rather homely looking if you ask me.
Product Strengths: Imaging, bass, inner detail, etc..
