Re: Totem Floorstanders and Claws

The beaks may be silly to some, and cool to others, but I found them to improve imaging and clear up some high frequency nastiness. Without them, some high notes sounded distorted/hashy, but with the beaks properly positioned, those same notes became clear and tuneful.

They worked with the Sttafs, but they also fixed up the Coincidents as well, and now they help with my present Audio Notes too. It's odd, but the beaks seemed to work better in a symmetrical placement (mirrored image between speakers) with the Sttafs and Coincidents, but they definitely are better in a more random placement on the Audio Notes. In fact, symmetrically they make matters worse than not being there at all.

And wouldn't you know it, I just happen to have a pair of beaks up for sale on Audiogon right now . . . - just joking . . oops, sorry . . couldn't resist.
