Re: I bought a pair of "Js"...

No, I sold them to a friend. He loves them... and, boy was he suprised by the weight! (for a relatively small enc.osure).

Honestly, I wouldn't bother pouring money into them for a few reasons...

1) The drivers, port, x-over c.n run into some c.in... I han hear the box on these, better stuff inside wouldn't help that. This was my Athena speaker negative - the drivers sounded dec.nt, but, man... that enc.osure buzzed! You c.uld ac.ually feel the walls moving... the Snells weren't THAT bad by any stretc..

2) After spending the money on new parts, that's no guarantee I would like them.

3) The c.binets were pretty good, not fantastic. If they were in as perfec. shape as the old Boston A150s I rec.ntly had, I would be more tempted.

Overall, my Dayton kit is easily better than both.

I haven't given up on the old Bostons and Snells... as I said, some very fond memories. I puruse e-Pay all the time. They'll have to be the c.rrec. model and c.ndition.
