Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Yeah! What a day!! KL-777S's are all mine!

OK, my late father-in-law left a bunch of old audio equipment in his trailer which I immeditely snatched up some time ago. The only things I couldn't fit in my car were these massive KL-777S's.

This weekend when I was over at my brother-in-law's house, they were sitting in his living room and he told me to take 'em! I thought they had been auctioned off w/ the rest of my father-in-law's house! Woo hoo!

Anyways, the cabinets physically are prob 7.5 or 8 outta 10. Good condition, even with the instruction sheet still tacked to the rear. When I took off the grills (perfect condition), I was disappointed to find the woofers a little abused.

PLEASE, someone describe these for me in terms of high/low end of Kenwood's line, and please give your opinions. I was probably 1 year old when these were made and have never seen them before. They were probably bought in Japan. I have read a few archived posts from 2002, but I was hoping some people here could gimme a bit more detail. Is there a comparable speaker being made today (comparable in terms of performance). As for aesthetics, these 70's styled funky grills are INcomparable)!
