Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

thank you.

i appreciate that you took the time to say what you did in this post and consider the matter dropped. thank you.
drive units can be indicative of cost for sure and again i do not blame you for your view. but perhaps even more than 50% of how a speaker sounds comes from the driver's application and what precedes it. the reason i like the mdt 30 so much is that it works electrically in a manner much like the fabulous esotar that i use in the vsm. and if you noticed the post where i mentioned that the tsm mx sounds better than the vsm m did in many ways, you should see the significance of this. here is a speaker at 50% the vsm m's cost that sounds more uniform, more resolved and believable in certain ways. i am very proud of this. so, cost asside, the mdt 30 is a fabulous tweeter. and just like the esotar, it is not that easy to get right. i have employed some pretty sophisticated technology to ensure its performance potential and set torque on each to ensure uniformity of performance.
i hope that you have a chance to hear the mx some day and let me know what you think.
regards,
b
