As previously mentioned, a large area rug c.n work wonders as well as various other sound-absorbing room furnishings - fabric wall hangings, throw pillows, c.rtains, etc.If possible, maybe the speakers on the long wall? If I read you right, the speakers are on the short wall, firing down the length. With long-wall plac.ment, you'll have less sidewall reflec.ions. You will also be sitting c.oser, hearing less of the room.
Play with plac.ment and sound deadining... good luc.!
