Re: Not it was faithful to John's style.

Now, I am not near the Ox expert which you are, and I have no idea how he sounded in concert. I was actually ready to purchase tickets to a reunion show when he went out in a blaze of cocaine and hookers!

What I will say, is that on those isolated tracks, the bass rattled the entire house. The director of the remastering job loved John's bass so much that on the "Special Features DVD" you get to select from two songs where all other vox and instruments are taken out of the mix. Remember, this is a DVD, so you just see Thunderfingers standin' there like a statue except for his string-pluckin'. Friggin' brilliant!

I have a Mirage PS-12-90 sub and during "Won't Get Fooled Again" the rattling was so intense that my roof collapsed! Well, almost anyways... The only bass that has come close is from the opening battle scene in Fellowship of the Ring. That may be the single greatest bass-effect ever created on a DVD!!
