I've not compared, but...

, as Sogood mentions below, you should know that the VMPS is passive, i.e. it needs a separate amp. I don't know if this also means that you need an outboard equalizer to set the cut-off. I'm sure this gives them the potential to outperform the all-in-ones, but we're talking about an awful lot of extra gear.
