Vandersteen audio has been designing their speakers with rear fireing woofers for a long time. Personally I find that it seems to work great for my room acoustics. In a way it doesn't seem like it would work, but I have found out that I have significant less boom than most ported speakers I have tried be it front or back port.shoe
