Anyway you screw them in works. If you screw in the spikes first you just spin the gold circles till they are snug with the bottom of the cabinet. If you place the "feet" against the base then screw the spikes in that works fine too.
Just try it and see what feels best, but the feet "gold circles" belong snug up against base. Try not to scratch them. And keep those speakers away from the walls!
