There is a lot of misconceptions about what is true bass. Where I believe the problem lies is with the so many critically damped designs out on the market. If a critically damped design can go low enough, it does give that "hit you in the gut bass" but to me it lacks the richness and note definitions that a Q of .7 or no higher than .9 can give, especially in a large sealed box. I also agree that a TL by definition of it two impedance peaks, even though rounded off, does qualify it as a vented design. But to everyone there own. If someone prefers the preceived fastness of a crtically damped design, I have no problem. But if they think that just because a .7 Q seems to sound boomy, which I don't think it does, it is because they are comparing the two.Clayton
