Okay I didn't elaborate much on the project but basically I built these speakers for a college class and then let my classmates listen to each for a few minutes. Most of the class liked the vented system best. I'm not saying it was the most accurate or that I liked it. I preferred the sealed over the vented, and I liked the TL the most primarily because of lack of midrange colorations. I get more excited by midrange clarity than bass clarity, though I'll take both if possible.I have heard superb bass pitch definition from a well executed reflex system - namely the Paragon Gem/Jubilee system. So I believe the execution is more important than the system type.
My experiences with transmission lines are somewhat different from yours, but I will admit most of my transmission lines sucked.
