other than establishing that most people prefer the bloated thud of a typical vent to what is measurably more accurate ( sealed and / or TL ). It would be pretty hard to take one driver and make it work optimally in the three different designs using the same appr. box volume. I'm sure that the demonstration had more than a few flaws to it but was probably quite interesting nonetheless.If i HAD to choose some type of alignment other than a properly designed sealed and stuffed box, it would be a painstakingly well tuned transmission line. It is head and shoulders above all of the other designs, but is the hardest to build. Any other design that makes use of the backwave is nothing more than a "ringer" with a high impedance peak at resonance. Vario-vents are the one exception, but they still don't compete with a good TL.
TL's are not slow at all if properly designed. In fact, they are quite fast in response. That's why they mated TL woofer with E-stat's in the Innersound Eros. Sean
