Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Of course it has the dynamic range and ability to move air

but it still will not sound like a rock concert, it will give you more of the perspective of a large symphonic piece, with layers and separation, not the "wallasound" that the typical stadium venue try to achieve. If you like the vandy sound you will like the way it prortrays all kinds of music. No way would I like to imply that one should play rock only on boomboxes, after all i must have at least a few hundred CDs and several hundred of records of the genre that plays nicely, to my satisfaction on my 3A Sigs. The point is that i never heard the Vandies sound like a rock concert, that realm is reserved very for high efficiency horn systems, boy! they make rock come alive like nothing else, but for some reason i like my Bach goldberg variations much better on my Vandies and it does not bother me at all that the Police is presented more like a loud Jazz ensemble, just a personal choice. The point is that there is not one speaker that fits everybody's needs, lifestyle or musical taste, The 3A sigs cover a wide range, but that stadium sound is on the fringes of its coverage.
