Some of the BBC monitor types had the hump too. Many listeners did not notice that there was a hump, it simply sounded "nice" (to them).I can remember when John Atkinson measured Art Dudley's system years ago and discovered it had a big midbass hump in it that Dudley did not seem to notice or object to. Dudley very much liked the sound of the old Harbeth 40 speakers he reviewed, featuring that notable midbass hump...
If you're not likely to add subwoofers, the hump might sound more satisfying than a flat response through the midbass region.
