Some speakers (especially smaller ones) "feature" a frequency response lift in the mid bass region because some listeners think it helps compensate for a dip in the bass response down low...
Personally, I've never heard a large speaker I thought had excessive bass below 50 hz. Perhaps I should keep on listening ?
