Yours is more simple, with well thought out components.That is your assessment (I certainly haven't heard such) with whatever accolades you wish to add, but not mine! I was under no illusion that you would back your claim ("you seem to be more about bragging about your rig") with actual quote(s) of mine.
My reality is live, sometimes amplified, music.
More than half my library is amplified music. It's how I started. And continue to enjoy. Objectivity, however, places those *live* environments in perspective to those devoid of any audio gear. Which is a separate question. Either works. Having both is better still. :)
Perhaps as an IT guy, I'm just too blunt with observing reality. That DOES NOT mean I don't enjoy that which isn't helpful evaluating the ultimate performance envelope of an audio system. I've been taken with Astrud Gilberto's The Girl from Ipanema since I first heard it in an airport as a child in '62. Ping pong imaging and all. I love her voice, warts and all. Have many of her albums preferably in 96/24.
It is you that any sound reinforcement drives you batshit wild.
It's the immediate fatigue experienced in my ears. I find that needing to use hearing protection devices kinda negates the concept of enjoying the sound. YMMV :)
