RE: Clearly identify your priorities

Believe it or not, but I've already done some eliminations. Oh, and I definitely have an "appearance" bias, I like wood and quality cabinet craftsmanship and finishing. I still have a couple of non wood speakers on the list (Magico and Piega simply because of their reviews and sound quality reputations) but it goes against my grain, no pun intended.

All the others are still there because they have qualities that I want to try. Audio Note and Devore, wide baffles and highish efficiency. ProAc and Audiovector, ribbon tweeters. Klipsch, horns. Harbeth, good ol' Brit boxes. So I have reasons for most. The ones I have to travel for, and the ones I'd have to have shipped are the hardest calls as they have great reputations, but it would be extra challenging for my physically (both the travel and the unboxing and potential reboxing and sending back 100 lb or so boxes).

And, though it seems like a lot, each dealer I'll be visiting carries at least 3 of the speakers I'm considering. So I can hopefully get some quick hits and work from there.
