BAF for B&W 801 S2

Not me. I've never heard the term.

Ah, well, that explains it rather thoroughly!

At least you included the word "filter" in your reply. So, I googled "BAF filter", and got something completely different. So, I googled "BAF audio filter". Ah, there! "Bass Alignment Filter".

In other words "EQ". Suddenly, I remember the Bose 901 speakers from the 1970s had an EQ box included. And I remember a presenter at a 1970s Midwest Acoustics Conference saying, in regard to the Bose 901, "Anyone can put a bunch of cheap drivers in a box, equalize the piss out of them, and make them sound halfway decent" (not exact wording, but you get the gist).

So that's what a BAF is - low frequency EQ. Ok, thanks! Why didn't you just say so?!
