There are indeed a number of manufacturers focused on building recording monitors. But the OP isnt talking about them- he wanted to know opinions on the 50A's. ATC does have a unique place in the market in that they focus on drivers and building low distortion models. This is why they are different and have the rep of "hearing things you dont hear on others". Most of the other builders have figured out their own angle, which is a good thing. Some focus on room (DSP room correction) some focus on high SPL (Ausperger), some focus on price. There are many choices depending on what you want.
