It's been a while since they've been in my system (I tend to swap speakers out pretty frquently) but I thought they sounded full and engaging in my small listening room (12x16).
This was with the speakers below ear level on 24" stands. I got taller stands to try and place the center of the driver at my ear level. When I did, the sound quality went down the toilet.
A dramatic difference, as I recall. This was with the non-Meta version.
