RE: Speakers specs question

The most reliable indication of the speaker's ability to deliver all frequencies at roughly the same volume is the +/- 3 dB stated one. The range in your example suggests a speaker that should deliver plenty of bass - probably a floor stander with 10" woofer or equivalent.

However many less good speakers are quoted with a +/- 6 dB range. This is pretty worthless as 6 dB from flat is far too big a variance and will be easily detected by the human ear as not accurately representing live music.
