I agree but why end up with any mismatch?

You're correct about finding acoustic suspension drivers but I've found a few although I don't recall if they were acoustic suspension or just closed box. Not all closed boxes are acoustic suspension. But for instance I recall a 10" SB Acoustics sub woofer(it rolls off from 100 Hz slowly due to high inductance) that in only 24(less than 1 cubic foot) liters has a Q of 0.5(maximally damped) and a box resonance around 35 Hz but is only 83 dB. But 2 of them gives 86 Db in less than 2 cubic feet. With great diligence you can find some drivers for closed box.

And a low Q closed box has better bass control than any ported box.
