New subversive in the house.

My partner called my (constant) audio purchases "subversive," but he loved good music. Just arrived, a pair of Dick Sequerra's Met 7 Mark II speakers for the desktop, found on ebay. They're as good as I remembered. Good enough, in fact, to warrant freeing a pair of Manley amps from their current duty as dust collectors.

Dick first became known when he designed the legendary Marantz 10-B tuner with Saul Marantz. Then he made speakers, and then... high-end spark plugs. Really. I don't know if he ever sold any.

He was a character. I called him a few times and we always ended up gabbing for an hour. He was a true Enthusiast - my favorite kind of people.
