I agree with you about the 120 Hz versus the 60 Hz to 90 Hz but why not control both regions. Then again a 1.2 Qts and 120 Hz bump is how the BBC balanced the LS3/5a so it didn't sound bass shy with flat response. Of course the LS3/5a was designed primarily to monitor the voice range and the bass area was much less important.
