A few comments. I knew Mark decades ago when he did Melos and Pipedreams. And he isn't smart, he's brilliant. But he's wrong about the note being as big as 2 18" because while it may have the area of the 18" drivers but it can't have anywhere near the throw of 18" drivers so it can't move as much air. But from the reports it does move 'enough' air.
Secondly I'd get rid of the REL subs. They have no high pass filter which means the Note runs full range. If a high pass filter is used with subs a huge load is taken off the main speaker which reduces their driver motion drastically and lowers distortion and makes the sound even more open, detailed and dynamic.
By the way, I consider dynamic linearity the most important factor in making a system sound almost real. But Harry didn't invent the term. He got it in the 70s from Bud Fried(Irving M Fried of IMF and Fried speakers). I knew Bud well from the early 70s even before the 1st issue of TAS.
