Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

But to allow expectations of "great combo" is just bad advice

Too many people are going to miss the point that comprimises are great and assume they are a match based solely on each being a "bargin" and each individually considered to be "refined".

They will fire them up and comments like:

"tube amps only have flabby bass"
"wheres all the SET magic I've heard about"
"mini-monitors can't do anything but zing"
"tube amps are all colored and rolled off"
"mini-monitors have humped thick bass and krisp top"

I doubt that the person you referenced makes his living off of recommending his setup.
