Small room - 11' x 13' - the wall behind the speakers is close, the side walls are too close, but not particularly reflective, the rear wall is virtually open. I sit in the middle rear.
Loud is good, but so is soft. Most of the time somewhere inbetween.
I like bass, which is why I disturbed the coherence of my Lowthers with a (sub)woofer. It displaces the tube-y bass of the Quads with a solid state bass, which is why I am interested in Tannoy.
I am a Tannoy newby, so your suggestion of the Yahoo group is much appreciated. It sounds like I should be looking for older monitors than the Arden's - should I also consider smaller monitors?
Thanks for your response. (By the way, the Quads have been refurbished & upgraded, & live on a diet of tested vintage GEC KT66's.)
