I bought AR3as when I got out of the Army. The highest powered amp I used was a Sony 100 wpc amp. Sounded pretty good back then. If you can believe this, they were actually better than the refrigerator sized Bozak Symphonys which were used in my college music appreciation class. Some people on here love Bozaks, perhaps they haven't heard them next to the ARs. There used to be a guy's review on Audio Review about AR3s.
This old dude worked at a stereo shop in the 60's. His ultimate was dual AR3s per channel. Really blossomed with enough power when playing classical and organ music. The Bozaks were mainly for people who preferred a mellow, mellow sound. As I remember it the dual AR3s beat out a pair of Bozak Concert Grands. I wish Audio Review had not erased that review. The guy had other worthwhile stories from the old days.
