The ARs were the first audio gear I ever lusted over...I actually dated a guy long after I wanted to break up with him just so I could get first dibs on his ARs.
And yes they liked power. The BF drove his with 400wpc Phase Linnear, I drove mine with a Lux separates or a super-receiver. The L100s were efficient but not the ARs, but I loved the sound at the time.
