What about music in this hobby?

well...

...I actually view the hobby of "audio" as a hobby of mine.

But what does that mean? Audio is a hobby of mine.

It simply means it's something I enjoy doing in my free time. I get enjoyment out of reading and researching various new "components"...I get enjoyment from building and tweaking my system...trying to get every bit of improvement out of a dollar spent. I enjoy listening to some of my favorite music on my "good" system...I also enjoy listening to new music on that same system as well.

But wait! The way I view and talk about music playing on my "main" system almost seems out of place...like it's not a part of audio hobby.

Can that be true?

Yes. Even tho my love for music may crossover and coexist with my hobby of audio doesn't mean that the two are inseparable. Where one is either dependant or within proportion of the other.
As I've said, audio is a hobby I truly enjoy...but it's just that...a hobby.

Music...well, music is a part of my life. Makes no difference what system or source material. Heck (here's a little secret)...I don't even need music to be playing for me to enjoy it. Music is more than just notes...it's more than a recording...music is emotion...music is spontaneous ... it's reliable ... predictable and ever changing. Music is part of who I am...audio is just a hobby I enjoy. Two very different things.
