Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

You're ratio is of interest...

if "so-called" high end systems make meal out of most recordings which people seem to think then what ends up getting played is all the test discs that SOUND technically good but not emotionally good.

There was a time way back I would not buy a recording if it wasn't recorded well then a lot of "high-End" systems made it sound relaly bad - yet was perfectly fine on other gear??

I say all you need to do is find something that pleases you - most everything on my system sounds good to exceptional.

It's time to buy music not equipment and ramp the ratio to 10:1 or more in Software's favour. Though getting a record for a buck these days may take a while.
