Opinions of Epos ELS-8 or other $500 monitors

Hi,
Due to budgetary contraints I'm forced to stay in the under $500 range for a pair of bookshelf monitors. I will be driving them with a Peachtree Nova integrated, which provides 80wpc. So far, I have listened to a number of speakers locally. The tiny Klipsch Wb-14 was sort of impressive, but lacking that lower octave would eventually become a problem. I have read some good things about Epos ELS-8, but no local place to hear them, so I must ask the forum what you guys think. Also I saw the little PSB alpha B1's seemed to get a lot of praise. And for just under $300, they seem to be a bargain. But again limited in the lower range. This is why I am thinking about the Epos ELS-8. I also auditioned the B&W CM1's, which were around $1k locally, but maybe I could get a deal. Then again, probably not enough of a deal to pull the trigger. My musical tastes are varied with anything from solo piano to jazz combo, to large orchestra. So I need a good all around speaker. My room is large but I normally listen near field and I don't try to "fill" the room with loud music. Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions. Roy
