The NHT Super Zero XU is still available new, and is in the same price range as the speakers you mention. I've got a set of the original Super Zero's and they are fantastic speakers. The ultra-pure clarity of the midrange is honestly unbelievable from a speaker this size (9" x 5"). I've heard others say that the highs can be a bit bright (this seems to be an NHT/Ken Kantor signature) but I find them extremely listenable. They really do need a sub if you want any appreciable sound under 100Hz.
