Re: Best bass

hi stephen,

-6db @ 40hz? get some vmps larger subs for some *bass*, man! ;~)

i wouldn't knock the 24db/octave slope of the marchand xm-9, unless ya tried it - i was gonna buy a bryston 10b, but several folks i spoke with, when i was shopping, that had experience w/both, recommended the marchand as more transparent & easier to blend subs w/monitors. the fact that it was almost a third the cost dint hurt either! ;~) i have never used a 10b, so i can't speak of its performance directly, but i *can* say that the marchand *does* provide seamless speaker-matching, w/no disconnect whatsoever. steeper slope, naturally in-phase, means less driver overlap, & the wolume pot at the x-over frequency means it's easy to adjust out any peaks or dips in response.

oh, and regarding the kodo drummers, mebbe they dint bring that monster drum to florida, but it certainly was in the usa - last i checked, reston, virginia is still part of the usa... ;~)

regards,

doug s.
