without spending *nearly* that much money. a marchand xm-9LL x-over, a pair of optioned vmps larger subs, and a pair of adcom gfa555 amps. total tab was ~$2400, & everyting was bought new, w/exception of one amp, which i got to match the one i awreddy had...i get extension, spl, and a tight accurate detailed response. seamless blending w/several different speakers i've had in my rig...
the only time i ever heard a comparable low-end from a stereo, was listening to a pair of the infinity irslll's, the ones w/ the two woofer towers, each w/six 12" drivers... putting on the kodo drummers of japan was *still* realistic-sounding - even a couple hours after having yust heard 'em *live*...doug s.
